Welcome to the Extension Council
Amy Ricker joins the Extension Council after the resignation of Stacy Rugan. Amy is the wife of Mark Ricker. She is the Chief Marketing Officer at Barber Financial. She is also the owner of Two Creative Visions. You have probably heard her voice on 98.1 FM KMBZ Radio, Amy is the Stock, Financial and News Announcer. When asked what the strengths of our K-State Rice County Extension Service? Amy responded by saying "It is the ability to reach children and open doors for their future in ways they wouldn't normally have opportunities to do. One of the goals she brings with her to the Council is that she would love to expand the perception that 4-H is just for "Farm Kids". Saying that she gave presentations starting in the 4th grade and soon realized that she loved public speaking. When she was in high school she was on the IA 4-H state Media Corp, did the Washington DC trip, was on the 4-H County Council, etc. Regardless of the fact that she was a "FARM KID" who showed livestock at the County 4-H Fair. All of this helped to perfect the speaking skills that she uses as an announcer for KMBZ Radio, and all other aspects of her life.
